### Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Playtest
Splitgate 2's Open Alpha Playtest was announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play. The test ran from February 27th to March 3rd, 2025. Unlike the PC-only Closed Alpha from last year, this Open Alpha was available on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Registration was not required; players were welcome to join. The playtest included new maps, weapons, game modes, and even a new 8v8v8 multiplayer experience.

Splitgate 2 Closed Alpha Playtest
Splitgate 2’s Closed Alpha Playtest ended on August 25, 2024. It began on August 21st of the same year and was only available to invited players or those who acquired Alpha keys. Keys could be obtained by clicking the "Request Access" button on the game's Steam page or by watching eligible Twitch streamers for two hours to earn a Twitch Drop.
The original Alpha was only on PC, but the developers have confirmed the 2025 Alpha test will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Is Splitgate 2 on Xbox Game Pass?
There is no announcement yet regarding Splitgate 2 coming to Xbox Game Pass.
