Maintaining a clean appearance in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 significantly impacts NPC interactions and quest outcomes. Neglecting hygiene results in negative perceptions and reduced persuasion effectiveness. Here's how to stay spick and span:
Why Cleanliness Matters
Dirt and blood negatively affect how NPCs perceive Henry. A grimy appearance hinders conversations and information gathering, even with high Speech skills. Being unclean imposes debuffs on Speech and charisma, making persuasion checks considerably harder.
Cleaning Methods
The game offers three primary ways to clean up: troughs, bathing spots, and bathhouses.
Troughs
Commonly found in towns and outposts, troughs provide a basic clean. Interacting with a trough cleans Henry's face, removing some dirt and blood, but leaves clothing unaffected.
Bathing Spots
Located near larger bodies of water (e.g., rivers, ponds), bathing spots offer a more thorough clean than troughs. Submerging yourself partially cleans both Henry and his clothing, though not completely. An example is found west of the Nomads’ and Cumans’ Camps in the Trotsky region.
Bathhouses
For the most effective cleaning, visit a bathhouse (usually in larger towns). While requiring a small Groschen fee, bathhouses provide the most comprehensive clean, removing all dirt and blood from Henry and his clothing. Regular visits are recommended for optimal cleanliness.
