How To Complete Under the Straw Hat Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

Unlocking "Under the Straw Hat" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Comprehensive Guide

To embark on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you must first complete "In Vino Veritas," a side quest initiated in Kuttenberg. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough.

Initiating the Quest:

Upon reaching Kuttenberg, locate Casper Rudolf, offering free wine samples on the city's west side. He needs information to improve his wine. You can either directly question Havel (requiring fine attire and cleanliness) or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta. If speaking with Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" to obtain crucial information. Report your findings back to Casper.

Infiltrating the Vineyard:

Casper then tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate a specific incense. Avoid trespassing; use the main road to reach the recruiter. Accepting the "Under the Straw Hat" quest from the recruiter will begin this stage. Proceed to find Jerome, who will explain vineyard work.

Working (or Not) at the Vineyard:

Work begins the following day. You can either fulfill your duties (moving sacks, collecting thistles) for payment or directly seek the secret incense. The incense is located in the cellar of the main building. Access requires lockpicking skills or stealing Jerome's keys. Retrieve the Sulphur Wicks from the cellar chest. For an increased reward, optionally gather five seedlings (this involves trespassing, so act quickly). Complete the quest by returning the Sulphur Wicks (and optionally seedlings) to Casper.

Completing both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" unlocks further quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys." Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
