A Modern Reboot of a Classic:
Metal Slug: Awakening reimagines the iconic 90s run-and-gun franchise. Initially revealed in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game has undergone several refinements and name changes. Following a successful Southeast Asia launch in late 2023, it's finally ready for a worldwide release.
For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, debuting in 1996 under Nazca Corporation. It's since evolved into a significant multimedia franchise.
While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises a significant upgrade in features and gameplay.
Classic Gameplay, Modern Enhancements:
The game retains the core run-and-gun mechanics that defined the series, boasting updated graphics and innovative gameplay features. Expect to see your favorite Metal Slug characters in brand-new missions. Game modes include a World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up mode, and challenging Roguelike elements.
