Konami hints at a potential next-gen release of Metal Gear Solid 4, fueling speculation about its inclusion in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Konami Hints at MGS4 Remake for PS5, Xbox, and More
MGS4 Could Be Part of Master Collection Vol. 2
Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently spoke with IGN, subtly suggesting the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots remake in Master Collection Vol. 2. While acknowledging the significant fan interest in bringing the PS3 exclusive to modern platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Okamura remained deliberately vague about concrete plans. He stated that Konami is aware of the demand but is currently focusing on internal discussions regarding the series' future.
The possibility of an MGS4 remake within Master Collection Vol. 2 has been a topic of much fan discussion. Following the successful release of Master Collection Vol. 1, which included remastered versions of the first three games, the inclusion of MGS4 on next-gen consoles and PC seems increasingly plausible.
Further fueling speculation, placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline last year, hinting at their potential inclusion in Vol. 2. David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, also added to the excitement with a social media post last November that suggested his involvement in an MGS4-related project.
Despite the mounting evidence, Konami has yet to formally confirm any plans for an MGS4 remake or its inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2. The wait continues.
