Nintendo is shutting down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp! The popular mobile game's online services will end on November 28th, 2024, leaving many players surprised. This news comes just days before the game's seventh anniversary on November 21st.
The Shutdown Details:
- Online Services End: November 28th, 2024, 7:00 AM PST.
- Leaf Ticket Purchases End: November 26th, 2024.
- Pocket Camp Club Auto-Renewals End: October 28th, 2024 (no refunds after this date, but a commemorative badge will be awarded).
While this marks the end of the online experience (no more Leaf Tickets, Market Boxes, gifts, or visiting friends), there's a silver lining!
A Paid Offline Version is Coming!
Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. While features like online interactions will be removed, players will retain their saved progress and enjoy the core gameplay offline. More details on this paid version are expected around October 2024.
This shutdown isn't entirely unexpected, as Nintendo has been gradually winding down several mobile titles, including Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost. Mario Kart Tour is also reportedly in maintenance mode.
