Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack: Four Classic Games Arrive
Beat 'em Ups, Racing, Puzzles, and Dodgeball!
Prepare for a nostalgic gaming experience! Nintendo is adding four SNES gems from the early 90s to its ever-growing library. This diverse selection offers thrilling beat 'em up action, high-stakes racing, challenging puzzles, and even a competitive dodgeball showdown.
First up, the legendary crossover: Battletoads/Double Dragon. This iconic title unites the brawling Battletoads and the Double Dragon brothers in a fight against the Dark Queen and her Shadow Warriors. Choose from five playable characters: Billy and Jimmy Lee (Double Dragon) and Zitz, Pimple, and Rash (Battletoads).
Originally released on NES in June 1993 and later ported to SNES in December 1993, this marks a long-awaited re-release for Battletoads/Double Dragon.
Next, get ready for some dodgeball mayhem with Kunio-kun no Dodgeball da yo Zen’in Shūgō! (known as Super Dodgeball in the West). This fast-paced game features Kunio-kun from the River City series. Compete against global rivals in diverse arenas, from indoor stadiums to outdoor beaches, each with unique challenges.
Originally released on Super Famicom in August 1993.
Puzzle enthusiasts will be delighted with Cosmo Gang the Puzzle. This strategic puzzler, similar to Tetris and Puyo Puyo, challenges players to clear lines of containers and Cosmos to score points. Three modes are available: 1P Mode (solo), VS Mode (head-to-head), and 100 Stage Mode (increasing difficulty). Clear lines horizontally and utilize blue orbs to remove Cosmos.
Initially released in arcades in 1992, Cosmo Gang the Puzzle later appeared on Super Famicom, along with various other platforms, including the Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
Finally, experience the thrill of high-octane racing in Big Run. Race across diverse African landscapes, from Tripoli to West Africa's swamps, in nine challenging stages. Strategic decision-making is key: choose your sponsor, build your team, and manage resources carefully to overcome mechanical failures and beat the clock.
