Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed hidden encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent stat boosts, extra passive skill points, and weapon skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance buff, but it's easily missed. This guide details its location and activation.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Interacting with the shrine grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff. Its understated icon on the world map makes it inconspicuous.

Due to PoE 2's procedurally generated maps, the shrine's exact location within the Spires of Deshar varies. However, it's always present on this map; thorough exploration is key. The shrine resembles the image above. Activating it triggers a fight with metallic automatons guarding the area. In fact, activating the shrine brings all automatons in the map to life.

If you reach a checkpoint before finding the shrine, fast travel back to it to avoid re-navigating the entire map.

Unlocking the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is granted instantly upon interacting with the Sisters of Garukhan statues. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; activation is immediate upon touching the shrine.

Remember, this encounter repeats in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating it twice yields a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why No Lightning Resistance Increase?

Many players find the resistance display confusing. Even after activating the shrine, their resistance values might remain negative.

This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected). Completing the Sisters of Garukhan in Act 2 neutralizes the Act 1 debuff. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff partially offsets the cumulative elemental resistance penalty.

To verify the buff's activation, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance total indicates that you've obtained all available resistance buffs from the campaign.
