This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable additions: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Debut in Pokémon Sleep
The December 2024 Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the arrival of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Expect boosted encounter rates for both, including their Shiny variants.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears from 3 PM on December 23rd on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Its sleep type is Snoozing, a common sleep type easily achieved. A Snoozing sleep research result significantly increases your encounter chances. While Pawmi evolves into Pawmo and Pawmot using Candies, their sleep styles can only be studied through wild encounters. A Balanced sleep type might also yield Pawmi, but with reduced odds.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, also debuting at 3 PM on December 23rd, is rarer, appearing only on Snowdrop Tundra. Its sleep type is Slumbering, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter rates. Like Pawmi, a Balanced sleep type offers a lower chance.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
For the best chance at both Alolan Vulpix and Pawmi, target Snowdrop Tundra during the event. However, be aware of the island's higher team requirements; strengthening your Snowdrop team beforehand is recommended.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
