SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a modernized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG has been resurrected with stunning new graphics, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.
Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs), Vay received a previous iOS re-release by SoMoGa in 2008. This new iteration builds upon that legacy.
Enhanced Vay: What's New?
Prepare for over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is the adjustable difficulty levels, catering to various player preferences. Convenience is boosted with an auto-save function and Bluetooth controller support for flexible gameplay. Players can acquire new equipment and spells as characters level up, utilizing an AI system for autonomous combat.
The Story Unveiled:
The game unfolds in a distant galaxy, scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashed into the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, unleashing destruction. Your quest begins on your wedding day, when your wife is abducted amidst an attack on your kingdom. You'll embark on an epic journey to rescue her and potentially save the world from the relentless war machines.
Vay masterfully blends nostalgic charm with modern enhancements. True to its JRPG roots, character progression is driven by random encounters yielding experience and gold. Immerse yourself in nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.
Download the premium version of Vay for $5.99 on the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, be sure to check out our other articles, such as "Unlock Love and Goodies with the Loving Reveries Update in Tears of Themis."
