First Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Gameplay Looks Straight Out of Terminator 2, and There's a Surprise Kameo DLC Character Coming Too

Author : Emery Update:Mar 16,2025

Get ready for some serious metal-bending action in Mortal Kombat 1! NetherRealm Studios has unleashed the first gameplay footage of the highly anticipated T-1000 DLC guest character, and simultaneously announced Madam Bo as a new Kameo fighter.

The T-1000 gameplay is a nostalgic trip back to Terminator 2, showcasing a range of attacks that perfectly capture the character's liquid metal abilities. His moves blend elements reminiscent of Baraka and Kabal, with a unique twist—witness the T-1000 transforming into a liquid metal blob before launching a devastating uppercut, echoing Killer Instinct's Glacius. Robert Patrick, the iconic actor who portrayed the T-1000 in the original film, lends his voice and likeness to the character, making his debut in a thrilling showdown against Johnny Cage. The teaser culminates with a brutal Fatality, a reimagining of the classic Terminator 2 chase scene, where the T-1000 emerges from a truck to deliver a lead-filled farewell to Cage.

PlayAdding to the excitement, NetherRealm surprised fans by announcing Madam Bo as a DLC Kameo fighter, launching alongside the T-1000. This fan-favorite character from the base game's story mode, the resourceful restaurant owner who takes on Smoke and his thugs, makes her playable debut. Catch brief glimpses of Madam Bo in action during the T-1000 and Johnny Cage pre-fight sequence, and later as a summoned assist.

The T-1000 arrives in Mortal Kombat 1 on March 18th, with early access for Khaos Reigns owners, followed by general release on March 25th. Madam Bo joins the fray on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.

The T-1000 marks the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, joining Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. While fan speculation swirls about a potential third DLC pack or Kombat Pack 3, Warner Bros. Discovery's commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise remains strong, with CEO David Zaslav highlighting the franchise as one of four key titles for the company's future game development strategy.

Madam Bo is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.
Ed Boon, NetherRealm's creative director, previously confirmed the studio's next game was planned three years prior, while promising continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third installment in the Injustice series, neither NetherRealm nor Warner Bros. has offered official confirmation. Boon cited the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4 (from Unreal Engine 3 used in Mortal Kombat 11) as significant factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title before returning to Injustice. However, he explicitly confirmed that the Injustice franchise remains a possibility for future development.
