Application Description

Auction Bridge and International Bridge (IB) represent a significant stage in the evolution of Bridge, stemming from Bridge Whist and preceding Contract Bridge. This variation features key differences from Contract Bridge, notably in its scoring system. Auction Bridge and IB utilize distinct methods for trick, bonus, and penalty scoring, and the concept of vulnerability is absent.

While trump selection shares similarities with Contract Bridge, the latter presents a more intricate process. Gameplay and rules maintain a considerable resemblance to Contract Bridge.

The initial trump selection is initiated by the dealer, who commits to winning at least the odd trick in a chosen trump suit or No-Trumps. Winning a higher number of points (excluding doubles) takes precedence over winning a higher number of tricks. For instance, 3 Spades (27 points) surpasses 4 Clubs (24 points).

Trick scoring beyond six tricks varies by suit:

No-Trumps: 10 points
Spades: 9 points
Hearts: 8 points
Diamonds: 7 points
Clubs: 6 points

A game concludes at 30 points.
