The Douay-Rheims Bible is a Roman Catholic translation of the Scriptures into English, based on the Latin Vulgate. Translated at the University of Douai in France, the New Testament was first published in 1582 at Rheims, which gives this version its name.

This edition features the revision by English Catholic bishop Richard Challoner, published in 1752. He modernized the vocabulary, spelling, and sentence structure to improve readability.
