Welcome to the "Digital Revolution of Devarattam" app, a project dedicated to celebrating and spreading the rich cultural heritage of Devarattam, a traditional folk dance from Tamil Nadu. This app is proudly dedicated to the legends who have been instrumental in preserving and promoting this art form. Honored with prestigious awards, Mr. M Kumararaman, a retired teacher, and Kalaimani recipients Mr. M Kannan Kumar and Mr. K Nellai Manikandan from Zamin Kodangipatti, have been awarded the Kalaimamani, Kalaimani, and Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar respectively. Their contributions to Devarattam are invaluable, and this app serves as a tribute to these legends, my guru Mr. E Rajakamulu, and other beloved figures in the world of Devarattam.

Devarattam, performed by the Rajakambalathu Nayakkar community, both in ancient times and today, is a vibrant dance that encapsulates the essence of Tamil Nadu's cultural tapestry. The dance comprises 32 basic steps, with an additional 40 alternative steps that enrich its complexity and beauty. Dancers, adorned with Salangai on each leg, hold a kerchief in each hand and perform to the rhythmic beats of the Deva Thunthumi, a traditional musical instrument integral to the dance.

Through this app, I aim to showcase Devarattam and honor its awardees, ensuring that this beautiful art form continues to thrive and inspire future generations. Join us in celebrating the legacy of Devarattam and its legends.
