Hazelight Games' latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, is off to a phenomenal start, having sold an impressive 2 million copies within its first week. Launched on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game quickly established itself as another triumph for the studio. Hazelight expressed their gratitude and astonishment on social media, stating they were "blown away" by the overwhelming support from both new and returning fans.

The game's sales momentum was evident from the start, with 1 million copies sold just 48 hours after its release. This means that in the subsequent five days, another million players joined Mio and Zoe on their sci-fi journey.

As a co-op game, Split Fiction likely boasts a player count far exceeding the number of units sold, thanks to its innovative Friend's Pass feature. This allows one player to buy the game and invite a friend to play for free, amplifying its reach among gaming enthusiasts. Given the buzz on social media, the sales figures are expected to climb even higher.

Hazelight's previous hit, 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, followed a similar trajectory, selling around 1 million copies shortly after its launch in March 2021. By February 2023, sales had surged to 10 million copies, and by October 2024, the game had reached an astounding 20 million copies sold.
