Netflix Games is losing two Grand Theft Auto titles next month. Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be removed from the Netflix Games catalog on December 13th.
Why are these games leaving?
This isn't a surprise; Netflix licenses games like it does movies and TV shows. The 12-month licensing agreement between Netflix and Rockstar Games for these two titles is expiring. A "Leaving Soon" notification will appear in the app before their removal.
What happens next?
Fans who haven't finished these games can purchase them individually or as part of a trilogy bundle on the Google Play Store. Each game costs $4.99, or the entire trilogy is available for $11.99.
Unlike previous removals, Netflix is giving players advance notice. This is notable given the significant subscriber growth Netflix experienced in 2023, partially attributed to the GTA trilogy.
Rumors suggest future collaboration between Rockstar and Netflix, potentially bringing remastered versions of Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, and Chinatown Wars to the platform.
