Let's jump right in this month, making up for last month's slightly delayed guide. A new month and season are here, and I'm ready to share some deck-building strategies to keep you competitive in Marvel Snap (Free). Honestly, the game felt pretty balanced last month. But a new season brings new cards, so expect the meta to shift. Let's predict the new trends together. Remember: today's winning deck might be obsolete tomorrow. These guides offer a snapshot of the current meta, but they aren't the only resource you should use.
Note: Most decks featured here are top-tier and assume a complete card collection. I'll highlight five top Marvel Snap decks, plus a couple of more accessible and fun options.
Most Young Avengers cards haven't significantly impacted the meta. Kate Bishop remains strong, and Marvel Boy boosted 1-Cost Kazoo decks, but the others haven't caused major disruptions. However, the new Amazing Spider-Man and the Activate ability are game-changers. Next month's meta will be drastically different.
Kazar and Gilgamesh
Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
Surprisingly, Kazoo is a top deck thanks to the Young Avengers. The core strategy remains the same: deploy low-cost cards and buff them with Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, and Gilgamesh thrives in this strategy. Kate Bishop fills gaps for Dazzler and reduces Mockingbird's cost. This powerful deck's long-term viability remains to be seen.
Silver Surfer Remains Unstoppable, Part II
Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
Silver Surfer remains dominant, with minor adjustments for balance changes and new cards. The classic Nova/Killmonger combo boosts cards. Forge enhances Brood's clones. Gwenpool boosts hand cards, Shaw gains power when buffed, Hope provides extra Energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent's power, and the Surfer/Absorbing Man combo delivers powerful finishes. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.
Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Strategy
Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype also reigns supreme. This deck features cards with Ongoing abilities, boosted by Spectrum's end-game buff. The Luke Cage/Man-Thing combo is potent, and Luke protects cards from US Agent. This accessible deck is easy to play, and Cosmo's utility is likely to increase.
Discard Dracula Deck
Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A classic Apocalypse-style Discard deck. The main change is the inclusion of the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are the key cards. Successful plays leave only Apocalypse in hand for Dracula to consume, creating a powerful Mega-Drac. Morbius benefits from discarding, and Collector can be surprisingly effective with enough Swarms.
Destroy Deck
Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
The Destroy deck remains largely unchanged, with Attuma added due to a recent buff. The strategy focuses on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, generating extra energy with X-23, and finishing with a Nimrod swarm or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence is notable due to increasing counter-measures.
Here are a couple of fun decks for players building their collections or seeking variety:
Darkhawk's Return
Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
Darkhawk, despite his quirky nature, is a competitive card. This deck uses classic combos with Korg and Rockslide adding cards to the opponent's deck. It also includes disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova, plus cards that trigger discarding and reduce Stature's cost.
Budget Kazar Deck
Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A beginner-friendly version of the Kazar deck. While less reliable than the top-tier version, it teaches the combo mechanics. It still uses Kazar and Blue Marvel, with Onslaught for added power.
This month's deck guide concludes here. The new season and potential balance changes will undoubtedly reshape the meta by October. The Activate ability and Symbiote Spider-Man are significant additions. It will be interesting to see which cards and decks Second Dinner addresses with balance adjustments. The return of classic decks is intriguing, but this dominance likely won't last. Until next time, happy snapping!
