Pokémon Go’s Fidough Fetch event is now live, giving you a shot at catching the Puppy Pokémon as you complete various challenges

Author : Chloe Update:Jan 13,2025

  • The event is live until January 7th
  • Fidough and its evolution Dachsbun make their debut in Pokémon Go
  • Complete global challenges and other tasks to earn rewards

As we settle into the new year, Niantic has already got a slew of content ready for Pokémon Go fans. While we wait for the Fashion Week to go live, the Fidough Fetch event is currently available, taking you on an adventure with your friends. Until January 7th, you have a chance to catch the debuting Puppy Pokémon and its evolution Dachsbun while completing a series of Global Challenges.

As the name suggests, Fidough will be available all over Pokémon Go over the next few days. Catch it enough times to accumulate 50 Candy, which will allow you to evolve the Pokémon into Dachsbun. Plus, Global Challenges are there to keep you on your feet, tasking you with throwing Nice Curveball Throws in order to unlock progressive rewards.

The rewards scale, so the more you achieve, the more you will win. Challenges first begin with earning double XP for catching Pokémon, which is bumped to up to four times the XP and Stardust in later stages. And for some freebies, be sure to redeem these Pokémon Go codes!

Other than Fidough, you’ll also be able to spot some of your favourites in the wilds. Pokémon like Growlithe, Voltorb, Snubbull, Electrike, Lillipup, and Poochyena will show up more frequently, with a chance to encounter their shiny variants. Hisuian Growlithe and Greavard might even make an appearance if you’re lucky.

If you're tired of running around catching Pokémon, then some of the event-themed Field Research tasks are a good way of obtaining rewards. You will earn items like Stardust and Poké Balls, alongside encounters with themed Pokémon. Keep an eye out for the Pokémon Showcases as well, where you can show off your newly caught creatures.
