Radical Fish Games Announces New Action RPG, Alabaster Dawn
Radical Fish Games, the masterminds behind the critically acclaimed action RPG CrossCode, have officially revealed their next venture: Alabaster Dawn. Previously teased as "Project Terra," this game promises an immersive experience in a world striving to recover from the goddess Nyx's wrath. Set to hit Steam Early Access in late 2025, Alabaster Dawn is now available for wishlisting, although an exact release date has yet to be set.
In addition to the Early Access announcement, Radical Fish Games plans to release a public demo of Alabaster Dawn in the future, giving fans a taste of what's to come. Excitingly, if you're heading to Gamescom this year, you'll have the chance to get a hands-on preview of the game. The studio will be present, offering limited spots for attendees to play Alabaster Dawn, but they'll also be available at their booth for discussions from Wednesday to Friday.
Alabaster Dawn's Combat Inspired by DMC and KH
Set in the ravaged world of Tiran Sol, Alabaster Dawn challenges players to restore humanity and lift Nyx's curse. As Juno, you'll navigate through a wasteland, working to rebuild settlements, establish trade routes, and awaken the remnants of humanity. The game offers an extensive 30-60 hours of gameplay across seven distinct regions to explore.
Combat in Alabaster Dawn draws inspiration from iconic titles such as Devil May Cry and Kingdom Hearts, alongside the studio's own CrossCode. Players can choose from eight unique weapons, each with its own skill tree, ensuring diverse combat experiences. Beyond combat, the game features parkour, puzzles, enchantments, and even cooking, adding layers of depth to the gameplay.
Radical Fish Games celebrated a significant milestone with Alabaster Dawn, noting that the first 1-2 hours of gameplay are nearly fully playable at this stage of development. "It may not sound like much, but getting to that point is a big milestone for us," the developers shared, reflecting their commitment to delivering a polished experience for fans.
