A Reddit user recently received a succinct, and unfortunately negative, response from Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney regarding the Steam release of Alan Wake 2. The user's simple inquiry about a potential Steam release was met with a blunt "no," leaving them to explore alternative purchase options, such as Xbox.

Alan Wake 2's exclusivity to the Epic Games Store is notable, given Epic Games' co-financing role in the game's development alongside Remedy. While Remedy reported Alan Wake 2's sales met expectations and expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, they've also confirmed that future Remedy titles will be self-published, opening the door for releases on platforms like Steam. It's also worth noting that the game reportedly hasn't yet turned a profit over a year after its release.
