A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a false mobile HUD, is free initially but demands a hefty $29.99 monthly subscription. Crucially, the app's terms of service suggest potential data collection, including IP addresses.
The imposter app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and attributed to developer "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios or the Dungeons & Dragons franchise, key indicators of its illegitimate nature. This isn't the first such attempt at a Baldur's Gate 3 rip-off, highlighting the ongoing need for vigilance.
Currently, no official mobile port of Baldur's Gate 3 exists. Larian Studios has not announced any plans for a mobile release. While earlier Baldur's Gate titles are available on mobile, and Baldur's Gate 3 is playable via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, players should exercise caution and avoid downloading unauthorized apps. Anyone who has already downloaded the fraudulent app should remove it immediately. The scam app's free initial access is a lure designed to entice downloads before revealing the costly subscription. Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.
