Early in *Avowed*, after rescuing the Ambassador and conquering a formidable bear boss during the “Message from Afar” quest, you’ll encounter a mysterious voice offering a tempting proposition. This guide explores the ramifications of accepting or rejecting this power.

Should You Accept or Reject the Voice's Power in *Avowed*?

Your initial conversation with the Voice centers around your approach to dealing with the injured and infected, revealing underlying philosophical viewpoints within the game's narrative. The Voice then offers a powerful ability in exchange for a future favor. Given the unknown nature of the Voice, the decision is far from straightforward. However, accepting the Voice's power is generally recommended.

What Happens If You Reject the Voice's Power?

Rejecting the offer grants you the "Godlike's Will" ability, providing an extra ability point for the Fighter, Ranger, or Wizard Ability Trees. While beneficial, it ultimately pales in comparison to the alternative.

Accepting bestows the "Dream Touch" Godlike Ability. This allows you to heal and revive nearby allies while simultaneously inflicting damage over time on Delemgan, Dreamthralls, and Vessels. The ability consumes 30 Essence and has a 90-second cooldown. "Dream Touch" is significantly more powerful and presents a unique opportunity not replicated elsewhere in the game.
