The Quematrice, a giant chicken-like monster reminiscent of a Cockatrice, primarily attacks with fire. While most weapons are effective against this mid-sized foe, its area-of-effect attacks might favor ranged weapons for less experienced hunters.

While its tail swipes and strikes can inflict damage, the most potent attack is its powerful tail slam. This involves a high arc before a devastating impact. Sidestepping or blocking effectively mitigates this threat. However, its fire attacks are the real danger, causing direct damage and potentially setting you ablaze, further depleting your health. The fire can also ignite the ground.

These fire attacks lack clear visual cues. One involves a slight head rear and roar, followed by a fiery blast from its tail.
