World of Warcraft's highly anticipated housing system is slated for a 2025 release, with Blizzard recently unveiling initial details. The developers assure players that homes will be accessible to everyone, irrespective of complex prerequisites, exorbitant costs, or lotteries. Crucially, homes won't be forfeited due to lapsed subscriptions. This substantial housing feature is scheduled for full integration with the Midnight expansion.
Initially, players can select a plot in one of two designated zones: Alliance players in a region blending Elwynn Forest with elements of Westfall and Duskwood; and Horde players in a zone combining Durotar with aspects of Azshara and the Durotar coastline.
Each zone is subdivided into districts, each accommodating approximately 50 homes. Players can choose between open-area plots or private communities for friends and guild members. A vast array of customization options is promised, with the majority obtainable in-game, and some available via the in-game shop.
Blizzard underscores the housing system's core tenets: extensive customization, robust social interaction, and enduring appeal. Further details are promised in the future, and player feedback is actively encouraged.
