Civ 7 DLC Expansion Details

Firaxis surprised fans by revealing their 2025 roadmap just days before Civ VII's standard edition launch. The Crossroads of the World DLC, included with Deluxe and Founders' Editions, will introduce four civilizations, two leaders, and four natural wonders across two content drops scheduled for March 2025.

The first update in early March will feature Ada Lovelace leading Great Britain and Carthage alongside four natural wonders. Late March brings Simón Bolívar leading Nepal and Bulgaria.

Civ 7 DLC predictions

While specific details remain under wraps, we've analyzed historical context and previous Civ entries to forecast these additions' potential gameplay impacts.

Ada Lovelace: Predicted Abilities

Ada Lovelace Civ 7 prediction

Regarded as history's first computer programmer for her work on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, Augusta Ada King will likely specialize in scientific advancement. Given her aristocratic lineage (daughter of poet Lord Byron), we expect her bonuses to focus on the Codex system and Specialists - mechanics currently unclaimed by existing leaders.

When paired with Great Britain's anticipated bonuses, Lovelace seems positioned to excel in scientific victories.

Simón Bolívar: Predicted Abilities

Simón Bolívar Civ 7 prediction

The famed Latin American revolutionary makes his return after appearing in Civilization VI. Known as "The Liberator," Bolívar will likely utilize Civ VII's new Commander system for military expansion. Unlike Trung Trac's promotion-focused approach, we anticipate Bolívar will emphasize rapid troop movement and strategic positioning.

Carthage: Predicted Features

Carthage Civ 7 prediction

As antiquity's wealthiest trading hub until its Roman conquest, Carthage will likely specialize in commerce. While Phoenicia handled naval trade routes in Civ VI, we predict Carthage will focus on trade capacity and cultural benefits from international commerce, possibly synergizing with the Colossus wonder.

Great Britain: Predicted Features

Great Britain Civ 7 prediction

A series staple since the original Civilization, Great Britain will probably emerge in the Modern Age from its Norman roots. Expect bonuses reflecting Britain's industrial and naval dominance, potentially including production boosts from iconic institutions like Oxford University.

Nepal: Predicted Features

Nepal Civ 7 prediction

Making its Civilization debut, Nepal will likely debut as a Modern Age civilization leveraging its Himalayan geography. We anticipate mountain combat bonuses paired with cultural advantages reflecting its Buddhist heritage and strategic position between powerful neighbors.

Bulgaria: Predicted Features

Bulgaria Civ 7 prediction

This Balkan nation's first Civilization appearance aligns perfectly with the DLC's "Crossroads" theme. As an Exploration Age civilization, Bulgaria may focus on cavalry and social policies reflecting its Ottoman-era history and strategic position along trade routes.

Natural Wonder Predictions

The DLC's four ecological marvels will provide terrain bonuses rather than unique abilities - continuing Civ VII's passive natural wonder approach.
