The built-in Stress reduction is a significant advantage, mitigating one of the game's most demanding mechanics. The Extractor begins with a + in Endure, along with base levels in Engineer and Engage, but lacks Interface and cannot upgrade Intuit. Their ability allows them to spend Stress to add +2 to their crew's lowest die, an ability that enhances crew performance on Contracts.

The Extractor's ability is particularly helpful for managing Contract risks. The starting bonus to Endure is also beneficial, given its frequent use throughout the game. However, the abundance of crew members with Endure and Engage skills might lessen this advantage later. From a role-playing standpoint, this class suits players who prefer a more physically robust and assertive character.
