After you've taken down several members of The Shinbakufu, Gyoji will be waiting outside your hideout, eager to discuss the tournament. The secret fighting arena is located at the Ominesanji Temple in Southeastern Yamato. To make your visits more convenient, head to the Ominesanji Overlook viewpoint to the west of the area and synchronize it to establish a fast travel point.

Upon reaching Ominesanji Temple, speak with Gyoji again. He'll brief you on the tournament's structure: you must triumph in four one-on-one duels before facing the ultimate champion. After the cutscene, ring the bell to commence your first fight.

How to Complete The Tournament in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The Tournament is a series of high-stakes, intense battles, but you can take breaks between fights by ringing the bell to start the next match. Use this time to heal with rations and upgrade your weapons and armor if necessary.

To defeat each opponent, we recommend equipping Yasuke with a long katana and mastering the art of dodging and parrying to exploit their vulnerable states. Don't forget to utilize abilities like Power Dash and Payback when you have enough adrenaline.

The Long Katana is your weapon of choice for The Tournament. Equip the highest rarity Long Katana available and upgrade it to its maximum level at your hideout’s blacksmith. Consider adding an engraving that boosts Armor Damage or Armor Piercing for an extra advantage.

Your armor selection is crucial. Before entering The Tournament, ensure you've unlocked the Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend by defeating The Ox, a member of The Shinbakufu. Also, acquire the Protector’s Armor by completing one of the Castles. The former provides a 75% damage increase at the cost of limiting your health to 25%, while the latter enables you to parry unblockable attacks.
