The event schedule for *Pokémon GO* in February 2025 is packed with exciting activities, including the Lunar New Year celebration and a Community Day for Karrablast & Shelmet. With the addition of Dynamax Moltres, here's a comprehensive look at all the events happening this month.
Lunar New Year event: January 29 – February 2

The Lunar New Year 2025 event, celebrating the Chinese New Year, runs until February 2 at 08:00 PM local time. This event is a fantastic opportunity for Pokémon GO players to immerse themselves in the festivities.
As it's the Year of the Snake, the Lunar New Year celebration boosts the spawn rates of snake-themed Pokémon like Ekans. Here's the complete list of Pokémon with increased encounter rates, as confirmed in the Lunar New Year announcement:
- Ekans (Shiny can be found)
- Onix (Shiny can be found)
- Snivy (Shiny can be found)
- Darumaka (Shiny can be found)
- Dunsparce (Shiny can be found)
- Gyarados (Shiny can be found)
- Dratini (Shiny can be found)
The event also introduces bonuses such as an increased chance of obtaining Lucky Pokémon in trades and becoming Lucky Friends with other Trainers. Additionally, participants can unlock daily Field Research tasks to earn free PokéCoins.
The 2KM Egg pool during the event will hatch the following Pokémon:
- Makuhita (Shiny can be hatched)
- Nosepass (Shiny can be hatched)

Legendary Flight Dynamax Moltres Event: February 3 – 9

The next highlight in Pokémon GO for February is the debut of Dynamax Moltres during the final week of the ongoing Legendary Flight event.
From 06:00 PM until 07:00 PM on February 3, Dynamax Moltres will be available as a Max Monday boss at all Power Spots. After this hour, Dynamax Moltres will remain available until February 9, though it will appear at fewer Power Spots as Squirtle, Krabby, and Sobble will also be featured as Max Battle bosses until February 10.
Finding Moltres might require some effort depending on your location, but you'll have ample time to search for this legendary firebird.

Karrablast & Shelmet Community Day: February 9

On Sunday, February 9, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, Pokémon GO will host a special dual Community Day for Karrablast & Shelmet.
This event offers players the chance to farm Karrablast and Shelmet Candies through increased encounters, along with evolution bonuses and better odds of finding a Shiny. If you evolve Karrablast or Shelmet by February 16, 2025, at 10:00 PM, you'll get an Escavalier that knows the Charged Attack Razor Shell or an Accelgor knowing Energy Ball, respectively.
The event includes various bonuses, and for an easier grind, you can purchase premium Timed Research for US$2.00 (or the equivalent in your local currency).
Beloved Buddies: February 11 – 15
A mysterious event, Beloved Buddies, will run from Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 10:00 AM until Saturday, February 15 at 08:00 PM local time.
Details are yet to be revealed, but we will update this guide as soon as more information becomes available.
Raid Day: February 15
The unannounced boss for Pokémon GO’s February Raid Day will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 02:00 PM until 05:00 PM local time.

Scattered to the Winds: February 18 – 20
Scattered to the Winds, another upcoming event, will run from Tuesday, February 18, at 10:00 AM until Thursday, February 20 at 08:00 PM local time.
Like Beloved Buddies and the Raid Day, details are yet to be revealed, but we'll share them as soon as we know more.
Road to Unova: February 18 – March 1

The Road to Unova event, leading up to March’s Pokémon GO Tour Unova: Global event, will start on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM and end on Saturday, March 1.
This week-long event features the debut of Shiny Meloetta, a variety of Raids with Gen-5 Legendaries, increased spawn rates of Unovan starter Pokémon, premium Timed Research & bonuses, and much more.
