Copyright Accuser Receives Backlash from Steam Community

Indie crime simulator Schedule I faces copyright allegations from Movie Games S.A., developers of The Drug Dealer Simulator series. As reported by the Polish Press Agency on April 3, Movie Games claims their legal analysis shows Schedule I potentially infringed on their IP by allegedly copying plot elements, gameplay mechanics, and interface design.
Although no official legal action has been taken yet, gaming communities have already taken sides, with majority support leaning toward Schedule I. Both The Drug Dealer Simulator and its sequel now carry "Overwhelmingly Negative" and "Mostly Negative" Steam reviews respectively following fan backlash.

The negative reviews primarily accuse Movie Games S.A. of bullying indie developers and demonstrate hypocrisy, noting the company never pursued similar claims against earlier titles with comparable concepts. This controversy emerges despite the series' previous recognition as standout criminal management games by critics and players.
Schedule I offers a cooperative crime simulation where players evolve from street-level dealers to drug cartel leaders. Since its March 25 Early Access launch, the game has earned "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews and currently ranks as Steam's #2 top-seller, outperforming titles like inZOI, Monster Hunter Wilds, and R.E.P.O. According to SteamDB, Schedule I has reached an impressive peak of 459,075 concurrent players.
Our team found Schedule I delivers an unexpectedly engaging criminal empire-building experience, effectively serving as a digital "Breaking Bad" simulator. For our complete early access impressions, check our detailed coverage below!
