Artian Weapon Crafting

First, you'll need to unlock this crafting feature. This requires completing the main story, reaching High Rank, and then defeating your first Tempered monster. While we won't spoil which monster it is, the NPCs' reactions will make it clear—they'll highlight its formidable appearance and numerous scars.

After conquering this beast, Gemma will initiate a conversation about Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial. You'll learn that she can now craft them. Each weapon type uses three components; you need at least one of each to craft a weapon. But there's more to it.

Components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus. Only components of the same rarity can be combined. The weapon's elemental effect depends on the most prevalent element among your components. Two water and one lightning component result in a water weapon; three water components create a stronger water infusion. Three different elements yield no elemental infusion.

The Artian bonus provides either an attack boost or affinity boost (critical hit chance). The choice depends on your preferred playstyle. To craft, you'll need Artian materials.

How to Obtain Artian Materials in Monster Hunter: World

Artian Materials

Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Usually, one or two roam each area after defeating your first. In-game notifications will alert you to their presence; they're marked with a blue outline on the map.

Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields Artian parts, found among your post-mission rewards, alongside decorations. Rarity increases with your hunter rank. While there's no direct link between the hunted monster and the Artian parts it drops, hunt those you enjoy or need parts from for other weapons or armor.
