Crazy Ones: A Male-Centric Otome Game Review

Crazy Ones, a newly released otome game, offers a unique blend of turn-based combat and narrative-driven dating mechanics. The game centers on a male protagonist navigating the high-stakes world of big business, pursuing romance with four distinct female characters.

While the game's marketing emphasizes its novelty as a male-centric otome, I find the term "one-of-a-kind" somewhat overused. However, the unique premise of a male protagonist in a turn-based otome game certainly piqued my interest.

The game's title, inspired by Steve Jobs' famous quote, hints at an intriguing narrative. The protagonist's journey involves relationships with four compelling women: Hakuo (the dependable HR manager), Hyouka Natsume (the tsundere president of a rival company), Chika Ono (an aspiring musician), and Tomoko (the protagonist's protégé). Combat is integrated through turn-based card battles using the protagonist's memories.

Initial Impressions

While the game emphasizes emotional connection over simple fanservice, the concept of simultaneous romances raises some questions. The potential for a narrative twist, given the title, is also intriguing. Overall, Crazy Ones appears to be a solid visual novel-style game for genre enthusiasts. However, I remain somewhat hesitant about the simultaneous romance aspect.

Crazy Ones is currently available on the iOS App Store and Google Play. For players seeking more narrative adventure games, check out our list of the top 12 best narrative adventure games for mobile.
