Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious region north of Reaper's Coast, is shrouded in Deathfog, its connecting bridge destroyed. This seemingly insurmountable obstacle hides a crucial part of the main storyline and access to additional quests. Divinity: Original Sin 2 offers little guidance on reaching the island, so let's explore the solutions.
Spirit Vision Shows the Way
The destroyed bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, once linked Bloodmoon Island to the mainland. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken bridge segments, some of which are treacherous. Several methods can overcome this obstacle:
Gloves of Teleportation: Obtained in Act I, these gloves allow teleportation without needing the skill, enabling you to move each companion across individually.
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat offer teleportation, but not all companions possess them.
Teleporter Pyramids: These artifacts allow warping between them. Two pyramids are needed: one companion uses translocation to cross, then the others warp to their location.
Fast Travel: A companion with translocation can reach Bloodmoon Island, discovering its waypoint for the rest of the party to fast travel to.
Take the Ferry Across the Deathfog
An alternative, available only if Fane is in your party, utilizes a ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood. Fane's undead nature grants Deathfog immunity. However, this is a trick; only Fane survives the crossing. He can then discover the Bloodmoon Island waypoint for the rest of the party to fast travel to.
Taking the Ferry Without Fane in the Party
Without Fane, two Teleporter Pyramids are required:
- Unchain your party and place a pyramid on a companion.
- That companion takes the ferry, dying upon arrival.
- Use the second pyramid to warp to the deceased companion.
- Resurrect the companion using a spell or scroll.
If Fane isn't in your party, the bridge method is faster.
Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman; he retaliates with Deathfog. A quick save is advisable before engaging. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
