Elden Ring Nightreign: A Swamp-Free Adventure?
From Software's upcoming cooperative title, Elden Ring Nightreign, will notably omit the poisonous swamps characteristic of many of the studio's previous games. This revelation comes directly from Yasuhiro Kitao, the project's product manager, during recent press interviews.
While a swamp-like area was featured in the game's trailer, Kitao clarifies it's a distinct location. The absence of the traditional poisonous swamps is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, From Software's president and a known enthusiast of swamp environments in games like Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. Miyazaki did not participate in Nightreign's development.

However, there's a chance Elden Ring Nightreign might still offer a two-player mode. Currently, only single-player and three-player modes have been confirmed, with the exclusion of a two-player option previously cited as a balancing challenge. From Software is currently evaluating the possibility of adding a two-player mode, but a final decision remains pending.
Elden Ring Nightreign is slated for release on May 30, 2025, for PC and current and next-generation consoles.
