Exclusive: Transformers Game Footage Emerges Post-Cancellation

Author : Oliver Update:Feb 02,2025

Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Originally announced in 2022 by Splash Damage and Hasbro, the co-op game pitted Autobots and Decepticons against an alien threat, "the Legion." Development was largely unseen until cancellation, leaving fans with only leaks and merchandise.

Recently surfaced footage, from a 2020 build, showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed city, seamlessly transforming and utilizing various weapons. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, albeit with a different enemy faction.

Despite some unfinished textures, the leaked footage presents a polished look, including environmental destruction. A silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal in a ruined New York City, contacting an ally named Devin. Numerous other leaks exist, dating back to 2020, offering further glimpses into the game's potential. Though ultimately scrapped, the leaks provide insight into Splash Damage's vision for this ambitious, multiplayer Transformers title.

While the game itself remains unreleased, the leaked footage offers a fascinating look at what could have been. The project's cancellation, and potential staff redundancies, highlight the unpredictable nature of game development.
