Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This exciting new addition to the Control universe is a session-based, multiplayer PvE game that promises an engaging experience with its replayable missions called Jobs. Each Job comes with unique challenges, objectives, and environments that will test players' teamwork and adaptability skills.
FBC: Firebreak is set to be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Additionally, it will be accessible on day one via PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members. Notably, this marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.
In addition to the standard edition, Remedy has unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, which will be available for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for an additional $10 / €10 / £7.
The Deluxe Edition includes:
- “The Firestarter” Premium Voice Pack
- “The Pencil Pusher” Premium Voice Pack
- Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
- Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
- Golden Firebreak Spray
- Classified Requisition: “Firestarter”: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets
According to the official blurb, FBC: Firebreak introduces the Requisitions system, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions encompass a wide range of items such as weapons, equipment, armor, and sprays, all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. Importantly, there are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; once an item is added to the game, it remains available permanently.
For players seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items including armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. These can be purchased with real money, but they are purely cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay. They will also remain available permanently.
Remedy has committed to ongoing support for FBC: Firebreak post-launch, with plans to introduce two new Jobs in 2025, followed by further updates in 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free to all players. While players can purchase cosmetics, these items will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins.
Amid a busy development schedule, Remedy is also working on Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, keeping fans eagerly anticipating what's next from the acclaimed developer.
