Rumors are swirling that the popular MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV), might be making its way to mobile devices. A gaming industry insider, Kurakasis, alleges that Tencent Games and Square Enix are collaborating on a mobile port.
A Spotty Mobile History
This isn't Square Enix's first foray into mobile Final Fantasy titles. However, past attempts have yielded mixed results. While Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis received a lukewarm reception, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia was ultimately shut down. Therefore, adapting the complex FFXIV experience to mobile is a significant undertaking.
