Steve Jackson, renowned for his Fighting Fantasy series, partnered with Computerdial to create the original F.I.S.T. (Fantasy Interactive Scenarios by Telephone). This innovative game allowed players to navigate a choose-your-own-adventure story using their landline phones, a revolutionary concept for its time. Instead of turning pages, players interacted via phone prompts, experiencing an audio adventure long before the advent of smartphones and touchscreens.
