Earlier this year, GameSir introduced the X5 Lite, a lightweight mobile controller that quickly became popular among handheld gaming enthusiasts. Now the company is launching the X5s, a more advanced model that maintains the same portable design while introducing a range of new features to improve gameplay immersion and smoothness.
The key improvement is tri-mode connectivity, allowing you to switch seamlessly between Bluetooth, USB-C wired, and 2.4GHz wireless. This makes it compatible with Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Switch 2, Android and iOS devices, as well as PCs. Designed to fit devices ranging from 105mm to 213mm in length, it works with a variety of smartphones and handheld consoles. It is also highly portable, thanks to the included PP storage case.
At its core, the X5s emphasizes precision. It features GameSir’s Hall Effect joysticks, which use non-contact magnetic sensors to eliminate stick drift and offer a lifespan of up to two million movements. The triggers also incorporate Hall Effect technology for smoother, more accurate input, and a hair trigger mode is included for faster response in competitive gaming.

Immersive features have also been prioritized. Dual HD rumble motors deliver refined vibration feedback, and the GameSir app lets you adjust dead zones, vibration intensity, and customize button layouts. Swappable ABXY buttons allow you to choose your preferred configuration, and turbo functionality is supported across the main face and shoulder buttons.
For extended gaming sessions, optional clip-on FX5 or FX5 Lite coolers (sold separately) help prevent your device from overheating. Pairing the controller with the GameSir GameHub platform also enables easy access to mobile cloud gaming and emulators, eliminating the need for complicated setups.
The GameSir X5s handheld controller is now available for $49.99 directly from GameSir’s website. Be sure to also explore this week's list of five new mobile games worth trying for fresh gaming experiences.
