The highly anticipated enhanced PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar's next-generation iteration of the beloved open-world title, has officially launched. This upgraded edition delivers substantial graphical enhancements and new additions, including comprehensive DualSense controller support, providing a superior experience for the PC gaming audience.
Key improvements feature ray-traced reflections, redesigned vehicle models, and numerous smaller refinements that collectively boost the game's visual appeal. The popular YouTube channel GameV recently presented a direct comparison, illustrating the graphical progression from the original release over the past twelve years. The disparities are most striking during wet night-time scenes or in dimly lit environments, where the advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections are most effective. In contrast, under bright daylight, the distinction between the base game and this enhanced version is far less noticeable.
Despite a strong launch—attracting over 187,000 simultaneous players on Steam and exceeding the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard version—player reception has been divided. The game currently holds a 56% positive review rate on Steam, with many users debating the value of this update due to the sometimes subtle nature of the visual upgrades. Further criticisms involve problems with DualSense features and technical difficulties when migrating characters from the original GTA Online. While some players have completed this process successfully, others are still encountering persistent issues.
