In the vast world of *Monster Hunter Wilds*, resources like Sharp Fangs are essential for crafting and enhancing your gear. These fangs can be somewhat elusive, but with this guide, you'll learn exactly how to find and farm them efficiently.
How to Get Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds
Sharp Fangs are a crucial crafting resource you can start gathering early in *Monster Hunter Wilds* by exploring the Windward Plains at the beginning of the story. These fangs are used to forge beginner-tier gear sets, such as Chatacabra and Talioth armor.
To begin your hunt for Sharp Fangs, embark on one of the initial optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests will lead you to the Windward Plains and offer a generous 50-minute time limit. It's a good idea to cook and eat a meal before setting out to boost your stats.
Once you arrive, head east to Area 8, the largest section on the map, where you'll encounter various smaller monsters roaming in groups or alone. While several of these smaller monsters can drop Sharp Fangs, one in particular stands out as the most reliable source.
Gaijos
Gaijos are small leviathan monsters that you'll primarily find near or in the riverbeds, often alone. They resemble crocodiles with distinctive snouts. You can spot their locations on the interactive map by looking for purple diamonds near water sources.
Approach a Gaijos location and use your weapon to quickly defeat them; they have relatively low health compared to other monsters in the area. After defeating a Gaijos, carve its carcass to obtain 1 x Sharp Fang.
Gaijos are guaranteed to drop Sharp Fangs, making them your primary target. You'll find around four to five Gaijos in the Windward Plains upon spawning. If you need more fangs, you can re-enter the area using any of the Windward Plains optional quests for efficient farming.
Talioth
Another monster in the Windward Plains that can drop Sharp Fangs, albeit not guaranteed, is the Talioth. These bipedal creatures roam in small packs in Area 8 and sometimes Area 13. They're slightly tougher than Gaijos but still manageable with starter weapons.
While some Talioth carcasses may yield other items like Talioth Scales, there's also a chance they'll drop Sharp Fangs. Additionally, hunting Talioths allows you to complete the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest, which requires you to kill 8 Talioths.
