Hearthstone is gearing up for an electrifying new chapter with the launch of Battlegrounds Season 9, set to hit the scene on December 3rd. This upcoming season promises a cosmic transformation with a dazzling array of tech-themed updates and a refreshed lineup of minions, making it feel like you're stepping into a brand-new Tavern experience.
What’s in Store?
Bob’s Technotavern is undergoing a significant transformation. With the arrival of Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9, expect a complete ratings reset. The beloved Trinkets are bidding farewell, paving the way for exciting new elements, including the introduction of Battlegrounds Tokens.
These new tokens can be used at the hero selection screen to reroll one of your hero options. If you find yourself with less-than-ideal choices, simply use a token to roll the dice for a fresh set of heroes, enhancing your chances of securing a strategic advantage.
Before diving deeper into the details of Season 9, let's look at the reveal and launch schedule. Today marks the reveal of Naga and Dragon minions, followed by Quilboar and Beast reveals on November 21st. Pirate and Duos-only reveals are slated for November 22nd, with Murloc and Demon reveals on November 25th. Elemental and Undead reveals will happen on November 26th. A preview event stream is scheduled for December 2nd, with the 31.2 patch notes being released later that day.
What Else Is New?
Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo taking center stage, equipped with his Galaxy’s Lens and cosmic flares. The minion and Tavern spell pools are also seeing a major shakeup, with nearly 90 minions and spells either joining or leaving the fray.
In a move to enhance solo Battlegrounds gameplay, the damage cap is being adjusted. Early-game damage will start at a cap of 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. Once players reach the top 4, the cap will be removed entirely.
The official launch on December 3rd will introduce Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs into the minion pool. Murlocs and Demons will join the fray on December 5th, with Undead and Elementals following on December 9th.
