HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero is making waves in the mobile gaming market, especially with the launch of its version 1.4 update, dubbed “And the Starfall came.” This update has propelled the game to new financial heights, achieving a daily player spending record of $8.6 million on mobile devices alone, surpassing its previous peak at the game's July 2024 release.
According to AppMagic, Zenless Zone Zero's total revenue on mobile devices has now exceeded $265 million. The 1.4 update introduced exciting new agents, Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa, alongside enhancements to game mechanics, fresh locations, and new modes. These additions have significantly boosted player engagement and spending.

A strategic move by HoYoverse was to offer Asaba Harumasa for free to all players, while featuring Hoshimi Miyabi in a banner, which played a crucial role in driving the game's record revenue. The 1.4 update has successfully maintained player interest beyond the typical drop-off period. Typically, player spending declines a week after an update, but this time, revenues continued to exceed $1 million per day for over 11 consecutive days, and even stayed above $500,000 two weeks post-update.
Despite this impressive performance, Zenless Zone Zero has yet to reach the revenue levels of HoYoverse's flagship titles, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.
