Indus Surpasses 5M Downloads, Ends Manila Playtest

Author : Nova Update:May 14,2025

Just two months after its launch, the made-in-India battle royale game, Indus, has already surpassed five million downloads on Android and over 100,000 on iOS. This remarkable achievement comes on the heels of winning Google Play's Best Made in India Game 2024 award and successfully completing their first international playtest in Manila.

This significant milestone is a testament to the growing popularity of Indus, as developer SuperGaming aims to position this shooter as a leader in Indian gaming, outpacing rivals like FAU-G: Domination. The recent international playtest at the YGG Play Summit in Manila allowed local esports stars to experience the game firsthand, further boosting its global appeal.

Adding to their momentum, SuperGaming has launched the Clutch India Movement, a major push into the esports scene. This initiative kicks off with the Indus International Tournament, which began in October and is scheduled to wrap up in February 2025, with an impressive prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $31k) up for grabs.

Big Milestone, But More to Come

While the five million downloads on Android are impressive, they fall short of the ten million pre-registrations initially recorded. It's worth noting that pre-registration numbers often do not fully translate into actual downloads. Additionally, the 100,000 downloads on iOS suggest that Indus has yet to fully capture that segment of the Indian player base.

Nevertheless, these accomplishments are noteworthy, and SuperGaming's swift move to international playtests and the launch of an esports tournament underscores their ambitious plans for Indus's future development.
