The much-anticipated release of Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-centric 1.5 update on Steam has been overshadowed by a storm of controversies. Infold Games’ fashionable dress-up adventure, after months of exclusivity on the Epic Game Store, hit Valve’s platform yesterday. However, the celebration turned sour as players encountered a plethora of technical issues, surprising design alterations, and demanding new outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the struggle for Infinity Nikki continues.

PC players eager to dive into the Steam version of Infinity Nikki were greeted with frustrating technical problems, including crashes and overall instability that prevented the game from launching. While technical glitches at launch are not uncommon, the community's frustration extended beyond performance issues.
The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each comprising 11 pieces, has raised eyebrows. Players now face the prospect of up to 220 pulls—and significant expenditure—to complete these sets, a sharp increase from the norm. This unexpected change has sparked concerns about future outfit requirements becoming even more demanding.
Amidst the chaos, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event by an additional week, further confusing the player base. As technical issues persisted and monetization strategies intensified, the Chinese player community took to the social media platform RedNote, igniting a global movement. Players worldwide are now rallying to boycott Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.
“Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players,” Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. This strategy aims to send a clear message to the game’s digital income trackers, as the initial days of new content are crucial for gauging its success in gacha games.
The community's outcry has had an impact, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a “Mixed” rating on Steam due to numerous negative reviews cautioning potential players to steer clear until issues are resolved.
The backlash grew so significant that Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical hiccups and promising improved communication regarding future changes. The letter included reassurances that many issues have been addressed and outlined compensation for players: 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. Additionally, the Mira Crown event will conclude on May 16, with the next season starting the same day.
Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience
Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho— Infinity Nikki (@InfinityNikkiEN) April 29, 2025
While some view Infold’s concessions as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Despite promises of better communication, concerns linger about the future of five-star outfit requirements.
I wish you would finally chance the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community has begun celebrating the swift changes they helped bring about, though the victory is not complete. Boycotters are urging the community to maintain pressure, as Reddit user EdensAsmr pointed out: “Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces. Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it.”
