This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the final chapter in the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy. Released on May 19, 2005, it was the last Star Wars film directed by George Lucas before he sold Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012.
Fans eagerly anticipated Revenge of the Sith knowing it would depict Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader. A major plot point was the fate of the Jedi during Order 66, a sinister directive from Palpatine that turned the Clone Troopers against the Jedi they had fought alongside during the Clone Wars. Given the thousands of Jedi in service, it was logical that some would escape Palpatine's purge—beyond the few known survivors essential for the Original Trilogy's continuity.
Among the numerous Order 66 survivors introduced in the Star Wars canon, we've selected the top 10 who have left a significant mark. Their survival ranged from brief to extended periods, with some fates still shrouded in mystery. These Jedi all lived to see another day after Palpatine's chilling command to "Execute Order 66."
Our criteria for inclusion require that these characters were part of the Jedi Order before Order 66, holding ranks from Jedi Initiate to Jedi Master. This excludes Force-users like Maul or Palpatine himself, as well as untrained Force-sensitive individuals like Jod Na Nawood, who never joined the Jedi Order.
A notable mention is Asajj Ventress. Trained by Jedi Ky Narec on Rattatak for over 20 years, she was declared his Padawan. However, she never visited Coruscant or met the Jedi Council, and later turned to the Dark Side under Count Dooku. Her unique situation places her as an honorable mention on our list.
