1. Jurassic Park (1993)
In the Jurassic Park series, the feature films' release order closely aligns with their chronological order, with only the short films and the Netflix series requiring a bit of guidance.
The original Jurassic Park film, inspired by Michael Crichton's novel, introduces the series' core concept: Dinosaurs are brought back to life through DNA extracted from prehistoric mosquitoes preserved in amber. Entrepreneur John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) aims to showcase these cloned dinosaurs in a theme park on the fictional Isla Nublar.
Paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are invited to assess the park's safety. Joined by Hammond's grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy, they embark on a tour that turns perilous when a tropical storm and a saboteur disable the park's security systems, unleashing the dinosaurs.

Set and released four years after the original Jurassic Park, The Lost World brings back Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), with Julianne Moore joining the cast as paleontologist Sarah Harding.
This installment takes place on Isla Sorna, another island where Hammond had been cloning dinosaurs. Left to fend for themselves after the island's abandonment, the dinosaurs now face interference from two opposing factions seeking control over Hammond's company, InGen. One faction, led by Hammond's nephew Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard), aims to exploit the dinosaurs commercially, while Hammond, Malcolm, and Harding strive to establish a nature preserve for scientific study.
Amidst territorial dinosaur encounters and high-stakes chases, the exploiters manage to capture a T-Rex for a new park in San Diego, which subsequently escapes and causes chaos. Malcolm and Harding work to recapture the T-Rex nonlethally.
