No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Obtaining Solanium
Solanium, a valuable resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with specific climates. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft Solanium, ensuring you have a steady supply.
Finding Solanium
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on hot, arid planets. Before landing, use your starship scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a resource.
Upon landing, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These are abundant in specific locations. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While on these planets, also collect Phosphorus, a crucial component in Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
Once you've progressed the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can cultivate Solar Vines at your base. Utilize Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes, planting Solar Vines with 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. If your base is situated on a hot planet, direct ground planting is possible.
Each Solar Vine takes approximately 16 real-time hours to mature. Plant them and return the following day for harvest.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus from hot planets or purchased from traders/Galactic Trade Terminals. Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to produce more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To consistently obtain Sulphurine, gather ample Phosphorus and establish a farm at your base.
