Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half

Author : Matthew Update:Feb 25,2025

NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch content plan for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative Director Guangyun Chen detailed these plans in an interview with Metro, stating that each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This commitment to regular content updates also includes new seasonal stories and maps.

"Every season will bring fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes. We're dividing each season into two halves," Chen explained. "A season lasts three months, and each half will feature a new hero. Our goal is to consistently enhance the experience and keep the community engaged."

The first season, "Eternal Night Falls," already showcased this strategy, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. Maintaining this pace with iconic Marvel characters will be a significant undertaking.

Marvel Rivals boasts a strong initial roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, but the potential for future additions is vast. Rumors suggest Blade for Season 2, with fan anticipation high for characters like Daredevil and other X-Men. NetEase's commitment to ongoing updates, including balance changes and gameplay adjustments, suggests a continued focus on expanding the game's content and addressing player feedback. The game's success to date indicates a strong foundation for this ambitious plan. Further details can be found in articles covering player strategies, such as the use of Invisible Woman against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods despite potential bans.
