The highly anticipated remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, finally has a release date: August 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This confirmation comes via a release date trailer spotted on GameSpot's YouTube channel and the PlayStation Store, showcasing the game's enhanced visuals. While Konami hasn't yet officially shared the trailer on their social media, the news brings much-needed closure after a near two-year wait.
Initially slated for a 2024 release following its announcement at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, subsequent trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase and Tokyo Game Show focused on gameplay.
According to Metal Gear X (formerly Twitter), the remake stays true to the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, preserving gameplay and original voice acting – explaining the "Delta" designation. The "Delta" symbol (Δ), they explained, represents "change" or "difference" without altering the core structure.
More Than Just a Remake: A Surprise Collaboration?
The trailer reveals a surprising addition: a playful cameo from the Ape Escape franchise. A mischievous ape teases viewers at the trailer's end, hinting at a potential collaboration. The trailer concludes with a cryptic "And more...", suggesting further unannounced collaborations.
