Metal Gear Solid Celebrates the Year of the Snake with Snake
Happy Snake Year 2025!
A Serendipitous Celebration

David Hayter, the iconic voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, rang in the new year with a special message on Bluesky, highlighting the fortuitous coincidence of 2025 being both the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac and the anticipated release year for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. This exciting alignment suggests a momentous year for the legendary character. Hayter is set to reprise his role in the upcoming remake.
This synchronicity wasn't lost on Konami. Their official YouTube channel featured a celebratory New Year's greeting: a dynamic performance by three Taiko drummers accompanying a calligraphy artist creating the kanji for "snake." The video culminated with a powerful declaration: "SNAKE YEAR," emphasizing the dual significance of 2025 for both the zodiac and Solid Snake himself.

Since its May 2024 announcement, accompanied by a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, updates on Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater have been relatively quiet—until now. In a recent interview with 4Gamer, producer Noriaki Okamura revealed that delivering a highly polished, high-quality game is a top priority for 2025, acknowledging the significant challenge ahead.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the beloved 2004 title Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This next-generation remake boasts improvements including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, along with new voice-overs and additional dialogue from the original voice cast.
